Collected in the Golden Gate Member (Lower Beds) of the Tamiami Formation in 02/02/2020. Bonita Grande Aggregates Pit, Lee County Bonita Springs, Florida. Piacenzian Pliocene 3.0-3.4 M.Y.A. Collected and identified by: Melanie Briskin This Atrina has been found in small numbers in the Lower Beds of the Golden Gate always with cement-like matrix inside. Often found in the Pinecrest Member of the Tamiami is Atrina harrisi but this species doesn’t resemble any pictures we’ve seen.
