Collected in the Fruitville Member (Petuch Unit 3) of the Tamiami Formation in April 2022. Found in a lake being dug for a land site in 2022. Sarasota County, Sarasota, Florida. Piacenzian Pliocene 2.58-3.0 M.Y.A. Collector: BH#3 Collector and true locality will be divulged in the final data of this fossil cypraea. Identified by Melanie Briskin. Nice blackish fossils with the usual growth marks
