Burdigalian Miocene 15.97-20.44 M.Y.A. Collected and identified by: Provided to the buyer of this rare fossil.   

A Fine/F+ Macrocypraea cervus 3 5/8” or 91.05mm. Linne, 1758-“Lovely Pattern” Collected by scuba diver at 10-15’ deep in crevices under rocks in the 1980’s.Big Pine Key, Florida. A lovely specimen but there are sand grains trapped under the dorsum and sand blister on the side of the cowrie. Atypical of a shallow water specimen probably attacked during growth on local patch reefs.   

An F+near/F++ Purpuriconus kulkulcan 15.75mm. Petuch 1980 Collected by diver at 40-50’under coral slabs in Jan 1989 N.W. Roatan Island, Honduras. Some call this a form of C. cardinalis. Minor lips chips but hard to get now.

An F++ Cymbiola aulica 4 5/8” or 117.62mm. Sowerby, 1825 “Blood Red Beauty. Collected by fisherman at 25-30 meters in 2000.Jolo, Sulu Seas Archipelago, Philippines. Super Superb color. Lip with only small abrasion at top and very, very minor growth line on dorsal area.   

An F++/Near-Gem Murex troscheli 6 3/8” or 159.24mm. w/o Lischke, 1868-EX-Large. Collected in nets by local fishermen in 1999. Bantayan Island, Philippines.   

Chesapecten middlesexensis 7 ¼” or 183.20mm Tall x 192.89mm. wide. Mansfield, 1936 Collected in the Cobham Bay Member of the Eastover Formation. James River, Surry County, Virginia. Messinian Miocene 5.33-7.246 M.Y.A. Collector: Unknown. A very large- superb example with the usual pin-holing and minor damage as show on the umbo. This is a matrix piece and is very heavy as both sides are attached. Rarely offered still intact this

An F+/F++Siratus tenuivaricosus 2 5/8” or 66.34mm. w/o. Dautzenberg, 1927 .Trawled by Fishermen at 25-40 meters on sand and hardbottom with coral in 2012. Guarapari, Espirito Santo, Brazil.

An F++/NG Chicoreus florifer 2 7/8” or 73.32mm. Reeve,1846 Collected by a diver on hardpan bottom at 8-10’ in the 1990’s Berry Islands, Bahamas. Collector: Unknown. Operculum lost.  

An F++/NG Hexaplex princeps 1 5/8” or 40.90mm w/o. Broderip, 1833 “Superb Dwarf” Diver collected 6-7 meters on rocky bottom in 1999.Manabi, Ecuador.   

An F++/NG Hexaplex cichoreum 1 7/8” or 48.96mm. w/o. Gmelin, 1791-“Dark Dwarf” Collected by local diver at 6-8 meters in 1/92. Mactan Island, Philippines. Nice dark dwarf shell,   

An F++ Chicoreus (Triplex) emilyae  1 7/8” or 49.17mm. Petuch,1987- “Peach/Orange” Trawled by Local fishermen in 100-150’ of water around sand and rocky bottom. Offshore of Punta Patuca, Honduras. These are hard to get now in the orange color. Some workers are calling this florifer. However, the difference in the fronds can be seen clearly show this species to be different from florifer.

A Fine Neptunea tabulata 3 1/8” or 79.20mm. w/o Baird, 1863 Trawled live at 90 meters in 1980’s British Columbia.   

An F++ Epitonium scalare 2 ¼” or 55.91mm. w/o. Linne, 1758 Collected at 80-90 meters by local fishermen in 2016. Negros Island, Philippines. This is a larger specimen than Normal.
